Playlists are where your station gets its personality. Recupy gives you several playlist types - combining them is what makes a stream sound professionally programmed.
Creating a playlist
- Open your station dashboard and go to Playlists.
- Click Add Playlist and give it a name.
- Choose Song-Based as the source. Optional switches let you prevent the same artist playing twice in a row, or make songs requestable on demand.
- Pick the playlist type (see below), choose the play order - Shuffled, Random or Sequential - and save.
Playlist types and when to use them
- General Rotation: the standard type. AutoDJ picks songs randomly, weighted by the value you give each list - your main music pools live here.
- Once per X songs: plays one item after a set number of songs. Ideal for jingles and station IDs.
- Once per X minutes: time-based insertion - useful for ads and announcements.
- Once per hour: plays at the top of the hour, perfect for news or time signals.
- Advanced: custom configuration for power users.
Scheduling shows
Edit a playlist, open the Schedule tab and add a schedule item with start and end times - for example a morning show pool from 07:00 to 10:00. In the Advanced tab you can let a scheduled list interrupt the current song at its start time, or play exactly one song at the scheduled moment.
Troubleshooting
- Songs not playing? Make sure the list is enabled and actually contains songs.
- Wrong time? Check the schedule window and your station time zone.
- Jingles feel irregular? Review the "once per X songs" value and list weights.
